AP - International Students
The Advanced Placement Program is offered not only in international schools, schools outside the United States but also to the schools following American pattern of education. AP courses are offered in more than hundred countries, to all those schools that are apart of countries' national school systems, particularly schools where the medium is English.
More than 1,000 schools in 116 countries outside the United States participate in the Advanced Placement Program. Schools in more then 60 countries and over 600 universities accept Advanced Placement in their admissions processes.
Individual colleges and universities set criteria for granting admission to their respective programs through the AP Test. Though, performance of the candidate in the Advance Placement Test is considered along with the candidates' complete academic record.
If you aspire to study in US or any other country then encourage your students to gain country-specific information on universities which recognize AP achievement. Because admission policies may vary from institution-to-institution. It is advisable to that the students contact the institution directly for more information on application procedures and policies.
Advanced Placement International Diploma
The Advanced Placement International Diploma (APID) is a globally recognized certificate that challenges students to display exceptional achievement across various disciplines.
The APID is available to students attending secondary schools outside the United States and to U.S. resident students applying for admissions to universities outside the country.
To earn the International Diploma, students must earn scores of 3 or higher on five or more AP Exams within at least three of the five content areas below:
- Global Perspectives
- History and Social Sciences
- Mathematics and Sciences
