MCAT - Score

MCAT scorer is the combined score of the four sections. The number of questions answered correctly makes up for the score of each section. The total score achieved after adding the individual score of each section is called “raw score”

The writing section is marked by two readers. The raw score is combined score of the four scores (two scores from each reader). The raw score is converted into scaled score ranging from 1(lowest) to 15(highest).

The raw score of the writing sample is converted to an alphabetic scale ranging from J (lowest) to T (highest). Each letter represents the sum of two scores on the two writing sample items.

Scaled scores: It is the more stable form balancing the disparities between the sets of questions. More stable form of scoring.
