NCLEX: International students

For international students, the eligibility requirement vary from board to board.So, it is advised to contact the board directly. Apart from fulfilling the necessary requirement for registering NCLEX, applicants may be required to :

• Obtain Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) certification
• Take an English proficiency examination
• Obtain official review of credentials (i.e. review of nursing education)
  

Candidates can be non U.S. citizens, still they can take the NCLEX examination, however, there are some boards which will not allow non US candidates to apply for obtaining a license.  Therefore, a non-U.S. candidate should contact the board of nursing for specific eligibility requirements.
