PSAT/NMSQT - International Students
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship
Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) that act as a practice for the SAT and
tests critical writing, math and reading skills. U.S. citizen students
are eligible to take the PSAT/NMSQT who appear for the exam in the grade
11.
This test is typically managed by junior high schools. It is advisable that to
know more about the test you should contact the counselor or another
official at your school.
Online registration for the PSAT/NMSQT is not available.
PSAT- NMSQT Acceptability
The PSAT is an important test for qualifying for the National Merit Scholarship and practicing for the SAT. The whopping numbers of figures are evidence of
its credibility- approximately 3.5 million students take the PSAT/NMSQT
each year. In 2008, 1.59 million high school sophomores and 1.52 million
high school juniors took the PSAT.
The scores from the
PSAT/NMSQT are used (with the permission of the student) to determine
eligibility and qualification for the National Merit Scholarship
Program.
