Admission Requirements for Top 5 Agricultural Engineering Schools
Purdue University- West Lafayette (West Lafayette, IN):
Purdue University prepares agricultural engineers for rewarding careers focusing on the systems, processes, and machines that are used to generate or utilize energy, food, and water. Agricultural Engineering is a major within the Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) Department of Purdue University.
The application deadlines are January 1 with supporting materials to be submitted by January 15; the spring season program deadline is October 1 with supporting materials by October 15 and the summer program deadline is March 1 with supporting documents to be submitted by March 15.
The supporting documents with the application form include Academic Records, Standardized Test scores, Recommendation Letters, Statement of Purpose and Resume. Standardized Test GRE and TOEFL/IELTS are considered for the admission. Along with the standardized scores and supporting documents, application forms need to be filled and submitted online.
University of Illinois-Urbana- Champaign (Urbana, IL):
The Agricultural & Biological Engineering (ABE) department of the University of Illinois application deadline is January 15 for fall admissions. The admission procedure involves an application that includes a list of your high school courses and grades, a major selection, two essays, a list of extracurricular activities, and honors and awards.
The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) general Test is required of all the applicants. The test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the IELTS is also required of all the applicants who have attended a school in a country where English is not the primary language. This test must be less than two years old at the time of enrolment.
Also, all the applicants whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of Spoken English (TSE) or the SPEAK test either prior or within the first year of enrollment. The minimum passing score is 50 for either test.
Cornell University (Ithaca, NY):
CALS (College of Agriculture and Life Sciences) seeks applicants who maintain a rigorous high school curriculum and demonstrate an outstanding record of academic achievement. CALS considers the TOEFL score or IELTS. TOEFL and IELTS.

University of Florida (Gainesville, FL):
Official test scores GRE (Graduate Record Examination), TOEFL, IELTS, MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) and TSE (Test of Spoken English) are considered for the admission.
For applicants from countries where English is not the official language, applicants must presen Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Score the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB). Applicants are required to submit these test scores and also need to have verbal GRE scores of at least 320.
Along with the application form, supporting materials such as a Letter of Intent, Recommendation Letter, and academic records must be sent in order for consideration.
Texas A&M University- College Station (College Station, TX):
A complete ApplyTexas Application deadline is December 1. Along with the application form, detailed list of extracurricular activities, essays, statement of purpose and standardized test scores must be submitted.
Standardized tests such as SAT or ACT scores with writing component are considered. Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit proof of English proficiency as TOEFL or IELTS Score etc.
