California Polytechnic University (San Luis Obispo, CA):

Architectural Engineering (ARCE) is deeply rooted in Cal Poly’s history. Cal Poly comprehensively reviews all applications. Strong academic records and active in and outside the classroom i.e. extracurricular activities are considered to be an important component of the admissions. Beyond the basic qualifications, Cal Poly also considers Standardized Test scores and the courses undertaken at various education levels. Only ACT or SAT I scores are used in the selection process. The Fall-Quarter early decision application deadline is October 31st and Fall-quarter regular decision application deadline is November 30th.

Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA):

The architectural engineering major prepares graduates for professional work in the analysis, design, construction, and operation of residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings.  The early action application deadline is December 1. The admission procedure involves an application form, 250-660 words essay online, Transcripts from high school that must include the coursework, two letters of recommendation, and Standardized Test scores. Standardized Test scores such as ACT/SAT are considered and TOEFL or IELTS scores may be considered for admission for those whose first language is not English or for whom English is not spoken at home.

Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago, IL):

The architectural engineering degree program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET). Architectural engineering is a building-oriented discipline, which offers students an opportunity to obtain an engineering education specializing in building architecture, building-system integration, and structural and computer-aided design. The application deadline is January 3rd. The admission requirements are an application form- online or paper form, original official transcripts, three letters of recommendation, portfolio, and Standardized scores. Portfolio carries out-sized importance in the evaluation process. The portfolio must be of 15 to 30 pages, clear, concise, text should be minimum, drawings or images should be in high–resolution and graphically compelling. It is considered as a means to showcase the applicant’s interest, skills and abilities. Standardized scores such as ACT/ SAT, GRE and TOEFL/or IELTS are considered. International students whose education was completed in a language other than English are required to submit TOEFL scores. The TOEFL must have been taken within the past 2 years. A minimum TOEFL score of 550/80 (paper-based/Internet-based test) or a minimum IELTS score of 6 is required for admission consideration.

Kansas State University (Manhattan, KS):

Architectural Engineering at Kansas State University is a five year program, accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET that integrates an engineering program with building systems courses. The application deadline is January 15. Along with the application form, three letters of recommendation, Letter of Intent, transcripts, and standardized scores such as ACT/SAT or TOEFL must be submitted for admissions. Achieve a 21 or higher composite score on the ACT assessment or a 980 or higher on the SAT I to be eligible for admission.

Pennsylvania State University (University Park, PA):

Statement of Intent, three letters of recommendation, academic records, standardized test scores and application for are the basic requirements for getting into Department of Agricultural Engineering, Penn State. All International applicants must take and officially submit scores for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). The minimum acceptable score for the TOEFL is 550 for the paper-based test, 213 for the computer-based test, or a total score of 80 with a 19 on the speaking section for the Internet-based test (iBT).  The minimum composite score for the IELTS is 6.5. In unusual circumstances, applicants with TOEFL iBT speaking scores between 15 and 18 may be considered for provisional admission.
