SAT - International Students

International students who are planning to take test and want to know more about the test, they can visit education USA advising center in their city or region. Students can register themselves at these centers. International students can register for the SAT in the following  three ways:
  1. Online
  2. By mail:  Paper Registration Guide for the SAT and the SAT Subject Tests which is available at their  school
  3. Through a SAT Representative

SAT representative

 To register through a SAT International Representative, students must
  • Complete the paper registration form.
  • Print the name and address of the SAT Representative on the envelope.
  • Payment: Method of payment should be as per the registration booklet. Representatives do not accept credit cards.
  • Send all the documents along with full payment before the deadline.
  • Visit your nearest SAT representative.

Country-wise registration limitations

Many countries have various rules that apply to registration and taking SAT test:
Identification Issues: Students from the following countries must provide a valid passport as ID:
  • Ghana
  • India
  • Nepal
  • Nigeria
  • Pakistan
Students from the following countries must provide either a valid passport or a national ID of the country in which the test is scheduled:
  • Korea
  • Thailand
  • Vietnam
Online registration is not permitted in the following countries. Students registering to take SAT tests in any of these countries must register by paper, and mail their forms on time (before the registration deadline).

  • Ghana
  • Kenya
  • Nigeria
  • Togo
Test in Kenya

Students from Kenya must register for SAT tests through Frise Holdings  (the sole SAT representative in Kenya authorized by the college board). Frise Holdings will distribute registration guides, process all test registrations, collect fees in local currency, and coordinate with Kenyan test centers.

Limitations:

  • Online registrations are not allowed.
  • Credit card is not acceptable.
  • Standby registration and change of test center on test day not allowed.

Test in Korea, Thailand or Vietnam :Due to security reasons, there are following limitations:
  • Changes in the test, test date or test center are not permitted on the test day.
  • A valid passport or a valid national ID issued in the country in which the test is taking place.
  • Students can still choose how many tests and which ones to take on test day, with the exception of a language with listening test, as long as they are registered to take SAT subject tests.  Students have to pay extra for additional tests taken.
Test in Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, or Togo
  • Online registrations or telephone re-registrations not allowed.
  • Credit cards not allowed.
  • Standby registration and test center changes on test day not permitted.
  • Along with their completed registration form, students must submit payment to the college board by one of the following means:
  1. Check drawn on a U.S. bank
  2. U.S. postal service money order
  3. International money order
  4. UNESCO coupon
  5. Bank draft
  • Students from Nigeria can register for the SAT through GIEVA -NGO, which is the sole authorized SAT international representative for Nigeria. Payment must be in the form of a bank draft or money order, payable to GIEVA, in local currency at the current exchange rate.

Test in India and Pakistan
  • Test on Sunday not available.
  • Test center close to home not allowed.
Test in Hong kong, Macau, or Singapore
  • Standby registration and test center changes on test day are not permitted.
  • Student taking test in Hong Kong should check assessment authority website for more information on SAT examinations.
