GRE - International students

The undergraduates who aspire to pursue higher education in United States, often have to submit test scores along with transcripts and recommendations for admission. The Graduate Record Examination, or GRE, measures a student's analytical writing, verbal reasoning and qualitative reasoning through writing, math and verbal sections.

There is no minimum qualification indicated for taking GRE. However, the candidate must be a graduate student or about to complete graduation within six coming months.

Overseas students can register for the computer-based GRE revised General Test in four ways Internet , MailPhone and  Fax .

Individuals in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea must register online through a My GRE Account.

Internet

  • Create  My GRE Account. Be careful with the spellings of name, as any disparity in the name appearing  on the test card and identification  proof can be treated as a qualification.

  • Payment by credit/debit card only.

  • Online registration is not available in Nigeria.

  • If you are taking the test in Mainland China, Please refer to the NEEA instructions.

  • For taking the test test in Hong Kong, Taiwan or Korea additional accepted forms of payment include: E-Check (drawn against U.S. bank accounts only) and .

  • Online registration is not available for individuals with disabilities or health-related needs. For more information on disability accommodations.
Mail
  • Mail the International Test Scheduling Form  to the appropriate regional center with appropriate payment. The form must be received at least 3-weeks before your chosen test date.

  • A confirmation number, reporting time and the test center address will be emailed, faxed or mailed to you.

  • You will be assigned a test date, time and location based on the information you provide on the form. If your requested date(s) cannot be accommodated, you will be scheduled for the next available test date.

  • If you do not receive a confirmation, call the appropriate regional center at least three business days before your earliest test date choice. If you miss your appointment and did not call the regional center, your test fee will not be refunded. If you provide an email address, you may receive a confirmation by email.

  • Mail registration is not available in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.   
Phone
  • Use credit/debit card or a voucher number.

  • Call the appropriate regional registration center at least 2-business days before your preferred test date.

  • A confirmation number, reporting time and the test center address will be given to you when you call.

  • Phone registration is not available in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.
Fax
  • Use credit/debit card or a voucher number.

  • Fax the international test scheduling form  to the appropriate regional center.

  • The form must be received at least  7-days before your first-choice test date.

  • A confirmation number, reporting time and the test center address will be emailed, faxed or mailed to you.

  • You will be assigned a test date, time and location based on the information provided by you in the form. If your requested date(s) are not available, you will be given the next available test date. If your assigned test date does not meet your needs, call the appropriate regional center.

  • If you do not receive a confirmation of your appointment, call the appropriate regional center at least 3- business days before your chosen test date.

  • Fax registration is not available in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.
